	Compass Maritime Services LLC was established May 1, 2000 by five of the leading Sale and Purchase brokers in the United States. The company is comprised of shipping professionals with extensive and diversified backgrounds, bringing a combined total of well over 100 years of shipping experience to the company. Among the five founding partners, the Compass team has training and practical experience in the areas of marine engineering, dry cargo chartering, ship finance, ship management, banking as well as ship sale and purchase brokering. This experience enables Compass to provide our clients with first hand knowledge and experience in a variety of shipping related areas.
Compass enjoys an excellent reputation within the international shipping fraternity for their professionalism and integrity and are recognized as one of the leading ship sale and purchase brokerage companies. The company has exposure to most shipping sectors including dry-bulk carriers, tankers (ranging from crude carriers to oil-product and chemical tankers), container vessels, reefer vessels, tweendeckers, cruise ships, passenger ferries, tugs and offshore service vessels. Compass is very active in the sale and purchase brokerage of both foreign flag and U.S Flag ships. Compass is a member of The Association of Shipbrokers and Agents (USA) Inc. (ASBA), the Hellenic Shipbrokers Association, the Connecticut Maritime Association and the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, New York.
