| Terry E.Chance 
Mr. Chance graduated from the College of Wooster in 1972,
with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He joined A.L. Burbank in 1974 as a broker trainee in the
Sale and Purchase department and eventually was elected to the Board of Directors and
served as the company President until the formation of Compass Maritime Services. Mr.
Chance has concluded over six hundred transactions and is recognized to be one of the
leading industry experts in demolition sales.
In addition to his activities in the scrap sector, Mr. Chance also has responsibility for
serving a portion of the firm's clients in second hand sales and purchase. Included in
this group are several large shipowners such as Exxon-Mobil and Chevron. Mr. Chance has
been the broker of record on behalf of Chevron for a large percentage of their sale and
purchase transactions, including both demolition and second hand. In July 1992, Mr. Chance
received the Chevron Shipping Company Recognition and Award Certificate. This Certificate
reflects exceptional performance and specifically recognized Mr. Chance for his
professional knowledge, integrity and dedication.
Mr. Chance has served two terms on the Board of Governors for the Maritime Associates and
one term on the membership committee of the Association of Shipbrokers and Agents.

Basil Karatzas  Mr. Karatzas joined Compass Maritime in the summer of 2005. In his

Basils past professional background incorporates experience in operations in the
tanker sector (lightering and port operations), chartering, project development in the oil
and shipping sectors primarily with South American oil companies, business plan
development and financial analysis and trading (including currencies, equities and
derivatives).
Basil holds a degree in Chemistry and Biology from Houston Baptist University, and a
Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and International Business from
Rice University in Houston. Basils fluency in Greek and Spanish has been proven
valuable in serving our Greek and South American clients. Basil is also conversant in
Italian and French and reads Swedish. |
| Joseph F. Kaufmann 
Mr. Kaufmann attended Pace University in New York from
1968-1970 and Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1970-1971 majoring in business and
computer management. Prior to joining A.L. Burbank, he worked for the Maritime Computer
Corporation, which performed all data processing functions for K-Line, Inc. He was then
employed by A.L. Burbank from 1986 to 2000 where he supervised the development and
installation of two computer systems.
Since the start of Compass Maritime Services, Mr. Kaufmann has been instrumental in the
installation of yet another computer system. His duties include the coordination of all
the office management functions for the firm, the negotiation of all service contracts and
the management and upkeep of the company's communication and computer systems.

E. Bart Lawrence  Mr. Lawrence graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science
degree in 1975. After completing his undergraduate studies, Mr. Lawrence joined Chemical
Bank as a management trainee. Upon completion of the management training program he was
promoted to branch manager within two years. In 1979 Mr. Lawrence joined the staff of the
commodity exchange COMEX as assistant to the senior vice president of finance.
Mr. Lawrence joined A.L. Burbank in March 1981. He spent two years in the Dry Cargo
Chartering department and the New building and Project department prior to joining the
Sales and Purchase department. He has sold hundreds of demolition ships in addition to his
activities in the second hand ship sales market. Mr. Lawrence has been especially active
in the sale of U.S. flag vessels and is one of the leading authorities on Jones Act and
foreign transfer of U.S. flag vessel requirements as they apply to the U.S. flag fleet.

Thomas J. Linter  Mr. Linter graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in New York
in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation, and a commission in the
United States Navy Reserve. He sailed as a cadet in 1998 and 1999 for Farrell Lines,
Pacific Gulf Marine, and Sea-Land, earning a USCG Third Mate License in June 2000.
After graduation, Mr. Linter commenced his career at MaritimeDirect as a maritime analyst,
covering Sale and Purchase, Demolition, New buildings and Tanker/Dry cargo chartering.
Mr. Linter has been a Sale and Purchase broker with Compass Maritime Services since March
2001.

Thomas O'Toole  Mr.
O'Toole graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in 2006
with a Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation and a commission in
the United States Navy Reserve. He earned a USCG Thrid Mate License in June 2006 after
sailing for the Military Sealift Command, AHL Shipping Company and Waterman Steamship
Corporation in 2004 and 2005.
After graduation, Mr. O'Toole joined "K" Line America as a Marine Techincal
Analyst, which is responsible for U.S. East Coast vessel stowage planning, providing
marine and vessel technical support/analysis including awkward cargo, DG cargo, container
safeguard and handling, and port operations.
Mr. O'Toole joined the Sale and Purchase team at Compass Maritime Services in January
2007.

Thomas S. Roberts  Mr. Roberts graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Transportation Management in 1975. After completing his undergraduate studies, Mr.
Roberts attended a student exchange program in Rotterdam and participated in a training
program at a major Dutch ship owning company. He then worked for Farrell Lines in New York
while working on his Masters of Science degree in Ocean Transportation Management at State
University of New York Maritime College.
He commenced his career as a ship sales and purchase broker in 1978 and worked at A.L.
Burbank from 1983-2000. He has been involved in the sale of tankers, bulkers, container
vessels, tug boats, cement carriers and cruise vessels. He completes hundreds of
valuations each year and has extensive contacts in the ship finance community.
Mr. Roberts has testified as an expert witness (ship appraiser) before the United States
Bankruptcy Court (Southern District of New York), the United States District Court
(Eastern District of Louisiana) and performed valuations for cases before the United
States Tax Court.
Mr. Roberts is currently serving as First Vice President
and the Sale and Purchase representative on the Board of Directors of ASBA (The
Association of Shipbrokers and Agents (USA) Inc) and is an Associate Member of the Marine
Society of the City of New York (chartered in 1770).

Sophus A. Schanche  Mr. Schanche graduated from Fana Gymnas in Bergen, Norway in 1979
with a degree in economics. After college he served in the Royal Norwegian Navy.
He then worked as a trainee at Joachim Grieg & Co. in Bergen. Upon completion of his
training program, Mr. Schanche moved to the United States and initially spent two years at
Peraco Chartering working as a dry cargo chartering broker.
From 1983-2000 he worked at A.L. Burbank, specializing in the Sales of second hand bulk
carriers and oil tankers. He is widely recognized for his knowledge of these markets. Mr.
Schanches fluency in the Scandinavian Languages has greatly strengthened our ties to
these markets. |
